About Ask That Fit Girl

Ask That Fit Girl

Hello there and thanks for dropping by.

I’m Maryanne K. I’m a Gen-X Brisbane based fitness blogger who’s made fitness a daily lifestyle choice for more than a decade.

My passion for dance, the outdoors and being active has led to this fitness blog which focuses entirely on the road testing and review of fitness workouts.

Along the way, I interview trainers, coaches and instructors to shed light on all that ‘fitness mumbo jumbo’. I share some helpful fitness hacks through my own personal experience and you’ll find references to dance somewhere in there too.

I don’t believe you need to sign up to a 12 week challenge to get fit. My philosophy is find one thing you love to do, do it often. Then it becomes habit, and evolves naturally into a lifestyle choice.

And this is important because we all live busy lives. We’re juggling work, kids, pets, study, family commitments and more. So we’ve got to find something that works in with our time – not something that adds to it.

My goal is to cut through the workout jungle to help you find an activity you enjoy doing, and start achieving things you never thought possible. There’s an amazing community out there. I’m here to help you tap into it, connect with some fantastic trainers and meet other like minded people who make fitness fun.

I think fitness starts with believing in yourself, choosing a positive mindset and simply getting up and moving. And doing a little better every day. And using that sense of accomplishment to drive you forward. Warning: it can be addictive and spill over into every aspect of your life.

My joy in living an active lifestyle is what’s spurred me on to run in countless Bridge to Brisbane’s, complete several sprint triathlons, get my blue belt in jujitsu, take up ballet in my late 20s, climb Mt Kinabula in Malaysia, and Kokoda Track in my home country Papua New Guinea..

Thanks to those feel good endorphins, I’ve set my sights on my next chapter: completing a 1-2 km ocean swim, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and making it to Everest Base Camp in my 40th decade.

Here’s hoping this blog inspires you to move in the right direction.
